West Virginia's rugged, rolling terrain and vast tracts of forest land means it is not surprising that the mountain biking is outstanding.
The New River Gorge area offers an extensive trail network that varies from technical single track for the experienced rider, to mellow fire road cruising for the beginner. Trails & tours are geared toward beginning riders, providing an experience the whole family can enjoy together. Advanced riders can also find satisfaction with special, more difficult tours designed just for them.
When is the best time of the year to setup your West Virginia mountain biking trip? Anytime! In fact, winter is one of the best times to see the canyons naked and exposed. After the leaves fall most of the mountain bike trails have breathtaking vistas, providing glimpses of the old coal mining era and views of the thundering rapids.

How far do we ride?
2-hour trips generally cover around 7 miles, but it also depends on the skill level of the group.
What should I bring?
It's not required, but it's a good idea to bring sunscreen, glasses, biking gloves and padded shorts. We also suggest a camera!
What does Tracks Mountain Biking provide?
We can supply you with a bicycle, helmet, water bottle and water and a shuttle, if needed. Of course, if you have your own bike and biking gear, feel free to bring it!
How should I dress?
Guests should wear non-cotton clothes that they don't mind getting muddy and must have closed toe shoes. Protective eye wear is also a good idea but it is not required. We recommend padded biking shorts or regular shorts, NOT jeans or long pants. A light windbreaker is also recommended in case the weather grows cold.
