Half Day

Fall, Spring, Summer

If you are on a tight schedule but still want to experience small mouth bass fishing on the New River... this is for you. Our half-day float trip goes out when smallmouth are often most actively feeding—early morning or late afternoon. This fishing trip will give you approximately 4 hours of quality smallmouth bass fishing. Snacks, drinks, tackle and transportation to and from the river are provided for you.

Do we have to run rapids on this trip?
Depending on the time of year and the water level in the river, we'll pick the best place to go for smallmouth—we know just where they like to hang out. But no matter what time of year and what the level is, there will always be some rapids that we have to run. But hey, this is the Class VI, and we know how how to do that!

What does Class VI/Mountain State Anglers provide?
We provide everything you need to have a great day of fishing, even if you have no experience and don't have a clue how to fish! We've got all the tackle, rods, reels and plastic bait, plus flies and fly rods if specified. We also bring snacks and drinks.

What should I bring?
Most importantly, you are responsible for obtaining and bringing your WV fishing license, and we ask that you please show that to your guide when you meet up. Bring weather-apprpriate clothing, as well, such as rain gear and warm layers if called for. Bring your own rod, if you prefer, plus hardbait, crank baits, plugs or minnows, though none are necessary, if you don't have them. Also, bring sunscreen, sunglasses and a hat.
