Learn to Fly Fish
Fly Fishing in West Virginia Streams and Creeks
Challenging and relaxing, all at the same time!
Learning to fly fish is fun in and of itself–even if you don’t land a fish right away. Our full day fly fishing class (through our partner Mountain State Anglers) takes the mystery out of fly fishing and makes it a fun, enjoyable experience that anyone can learn.
In the morning, you’ll receive insights into fly fishing tackle, fly presentation, fly selection, water reading skills and we'll have you casting in just a few hours. Spend the afternoon practicing your newly acquired skills alongside our knowledgeable instructors as you float a short section of the New River fishing for smallmouth bass. All tackle, and equipment, including a gourmet lunch and drinks, are provided. All trips are catch and release only, with artificial lures and flies only.
This trip goes out in the early morning, allowing you as much time as possible of prime West Virginia fly fishing. Gourmet riverside lunch, drinks, snacks, tackle and transportation to and from the river are provided for you.
Do we have to run rapids on this trip?
Not on this trip. We're walking and wading!
What does Class VI/Mountain State Anglers provide?
We provide everything you need to have a great day of fishing, even if have no experience and don't have a clue how to fish! We've got all the tackle, rods, reels, waders and flies. We also bring snacks, lunch and drinks.
