Fishing Trips

Early in the morning, as you pull up to the river bank of the New River for our guided fishing trips, feel the magic of the fog swirling around the canyon rim. Our group slides the Avon Adventurer (14' raft with inflatable floor) with swivel seats front and aft and center mount rowing frame into the water, you are ready to load the boat with fishing gear, lunch, drinks and head downstream. The river is wide, full of sandstone rock structure along the banks, and teeming with insects, bait fish and smallmouth bass. The canyon is deep, 1000 feet of wooded forest from river to the rim. For the serious fishermen the challenge is to make 1 cast a minute, 60 casts an hour and 480 casts for the day. You are focused, and if you have chosen the right baits, made the perfect casts, figured out the retrieval, with any luck you will connect with 100 powerful smallmouth bass. This is the way you forget about the rest of the world.

West Virginia should be called the "River State". Blessed with over 40" of precipitation and 4000' of elevation, hundreds of small coldwater streams cut through our mountains and teem with trout.
