You can even find yourself deep under the earth touring a once operational coal mine and learning about life in a coal camp at the Exhibition Coal Mine. Take a day trip to the historic towns of Fayetteville and Ansted, simply visiting the unique shops, galleries and quaint cafes or tracing Civil War monuments and battles. Or take a day hike into the gorge, take off on a mountain bike tour along the river, thrill to a jet boat ride, rappel 100 feet straight down a cliff, learn to roll a whitewater kayak and much more!
