Partnership Coming Together in 2008 In 1976, Doug, Dave and Jeff (the owners of Class VI) started their careers in whitewater by working for a company owed by Paul Breuer, called Mountain River Tours. These four friends (who met in 1970 on a 550 mile, 28 day river trip in Canada) all shared the same passion for providing world class adventure outfitting with attention to detail and exceptional customer service. In a world where outfitting is more and more about business, we think it is significant that we were (and still are!) deeply rooted in the river. We have always been river guides first - and businessmen second. We spent a lot of time and many miles not only on the rivers of WV, but on the great rivers of the world. We all worked at it ferociously yet paid attention to our guest and staff needs. We hung in there ...and now, have come full circle to take our dream to the next level. 2008 will be a year of fantastic growth for Class VI and Mountain River - one that will bring new and exciting changes for our guests and staff immediately as these leading companies will merge into one. Also part of this exciting merger is yet another outfitter, The Rivermen, who will make the move to our basecamp complex location in 2009! We are excited about this merger because it will allow us to reinvest and transform from three great outfitters into a first-class resort destination! As we speak, master plans are being created for the project that will begin in the fall of 2008. We will expand our rental cabins; build ropes and paint ball courses; a larger adventure center with new video viewing areas, a pool and so much more. As always, we want and need your comments as we make this happen. Class VI has and will continue to be (as one of our original cultural slogans says) 'whitewater wise/customer driven'. So, be sure and tell us what you think! As if this is not enough change, another guest and friend from twenty years ago has put together a group of investors that purchased 800 acres around Class VI and plans to develop a sustainable community of homes that border the National Park. Wild Rock West Virginia will start selling home sites for primary and second homes sometime this summer! Some of these second homes will be in our rental program which will give you another choice in lodging options and investment opportunities. This development will maintain the pristine mountain wilderness feel that you have come to expect when you visit Class VI. Come see the changes for yourself! While we are growing, we will never change our promise to all of you: to keep our guests and staff at the center of our culture, have fun, and preserve the human element in everything we do.
