Participation Policy for WV Adventures

So you wanna come out and play.  We want you to have a great time.  Here's some information to prepare you for your WV adventures.

PLEASE READ CAREFULLY

Participant's Responsibilities:

  • Each participant must sign a Release, Assumption of Risk and Indemnity form prior to participation. Participants under the age of 18 must have a signed waiver by a parent. If the parent is not present, a photocopy of the parent’s drivers license must accompany the signed waiver. Release forms are available on-line for fax upon request.
  • Closed toed shoes are required.
  • The zipline canopy tour is designed for use by participants of average mobility and strength, and who are in reasonably good health.
  • Participants should weigh between 90 to 260 pounds. (These are guidelines and depend on the participants physical and mental ability. Please consult our reservation staff when making a reservation).
  • Our minimum suggested age is 10 years old. Children between the ages of 10 – 15 must be accompanied by an adult, but must be able to participate independently of the adult.
  • Each participant must be physically able to control their speed as they zip by reaching over head by grasping the cable behind the trolly with a leather gloves.
  • Each participant while suspended in air must be able pull themselves along the zip cable a few feet in the event they lose momentum before reaching any given platform or landing zone.
  • There is a 800 foot nature walk on an unpaved trail at an incline of about 11% to gain enough elevation to zip to the next station. Each participant must be able to complete this walk. It is approximately as challenging as climbing two flights of stairs.
  • It is recommended that anyone who is pregnant, has heart, leg, or back problems, or other serious illnesses consult your physician prior to to participation in the tour.
  • No one under the influence of alcohol, illegal drugs, or impairing legal drugs, will be allowed to participate in the tour.
  • Class VI - Mountain River recommends that everyone in your group be familiar with our literature, trip(s), format(s), policies and risks. We have a specific brochure for each product. You or your group can find most of the information on our website. It is your responsibility, as the group organizer, to see that everyone in your group is familiar with our literature and policies.
