Among the many things the New River Gorge is known for is spectacular rock climbing. For those interesting in trying this super cool sport, Class VI-MR is a great place to begin - with over 4,000 unique rock climbing routes and expert AMGA certified climbing guides. All skill levels are easily addressed so that anyone can give this sport a try. From Bridge Buttress to Junkyard, Endless Wall to Bubba City, Summersville Lake to Beauty Mountain, you’ve got many routes to choose from and lots of rock climbing terrain to practice on.
We have adventures for kids as your as 8 years and even more options for those you look like adults but who are just big kids at heart.

Climbing areas are heavily regulated by the Park Service. Group sizes are limited in any given area, therefore large groups may need to be separated. Sorry – no spectators allowed.
What to Expect
- Typical ratio is 4 guests per 1 guide
- We provide climbing shoes, which are for climbing only. Clients will wear their own shoes while hiking and rappelling.
