A full day of rock climbing & rappelling in the with expert guides in West Virginia's New River Gorge is a trill whether you're a beginner or an old hand.

What a great way to spend the day! You get to learn something new while checking out the spectacular views the New River Gorge has to offer. While you are learning the basics of climbing, your guides will also tell you a little about the area you are climbing in.
From old coal mines to the New River, you will want to pass these stories on! Everything you need for this trip is provided so you won't have to worry about a thing. Just kick back and have some fun!
Trip Details
Start out the day by meeting your guides at Class VI headquarters or Mountain State Campground, depending on your lodging arrangements. This basic one day course will teach you modern rope and equipment management and allow you to climb some of the classic routes in the New River Gorge. You will be climbing in an area that people come from all over to try themselves. All of your climbing equipment, a deli style lunch and transportation to and from the climbing site is provided.
What to wear
Comfortable clothing such as shorts, tights, sweatpants and T-shirts are recommended for climbing in the New River Gorge and Summersville Lake areas. Wear light hiking shoes or tennis shoes for the approach to the climbing areas. During the spring and fall the weather may be chilly, so bring a light jacket or sweater. A light rain shell is also recommended.
