With a professional whitewater rafting guide in every raft on the Lower New River, instruction is provided at each major rapid as you float through the New River Gorge's rapids rated Class I through V (on a scale of I to VI).The Lower New River Gorge is Known as "the Grand Canyon of the East Coast"
The New River's character changes as you float downstream: the river narrows, house-size boulders are strewn in and along the river, the drop per mile increases and the 1000 foot canyon walls squeeze in on you just a little bit. |

Part way down the canyon, enjoying a deli-style riverside lunch as you mingle with other folks or simply marvel at the beauty around you. Towards the end of the trip, you round another bend and gaze at the spectacular New River Gorge Bridge spanning high overhead and the refurbished Fayette Station Bridge spanning the river.
