Rafting West Virginia - Lower New River Rafting : Full Day

West Virginia rafting trips on the Lower New River offer history, great scenery, & thrilling whitewater rapids.  A Lower New River rafting trip makes for a fantastic West Virginia adventure vacation!

Lower New River Rafting Full Day - Spring

Lower New River Whitewater Rafting West Virginia - Class VI MRHistory, scenery, and lots and lots of rapids are what a Lower New whitewater rafting trip is all about. A trip down the Lower New in the spring is also a huge-wave wild ride!

Once at the river, each guide will help show you how to get the most from your river trip, emphasizing teamwork and fun. As you drift into the 1,300 foot deep canyon, you will pass old mining towns, ferry sites, and coal camps. Our guides love to share the history and geology of the New River Gorge.

The New River is a large volume river, and on the second half of this trip the rapids are formed by the large shelf drops and boulders. These structures create monster waves, hydraulics and world class whitewater. There's a huge gourmet deli-style riverside lunch, and Class VI travels an extra mile down stream to our take-out at Hawks Nest Lake, which includes two more big rapids.

Lower New River Full Day - Summer/Fall

Lower New River Rafting WV - Class VI MRRafting the Lower New River in the summer, when the water's typically a little calmer, is one of West Virginia's classic outdoor experiences.

With school back in session and the start of the fall drawdown of Summersville Lake, few think to book a raft trip on the New River in September and October. Insiders know when rafting the New River in the fall, you'll have the river to yourself, plus the leaves are turning brilliant colors of red, yellow and crimson,

The New River runs cool and clear in the summer and fall. There are plenty of whitewater rapids to run here on West Virginia's classic big-water rafting trip, from the Railroad Rapids all the way down to Old Nasty. If you want a chance to experience the New, this is the trip for you.
