The Gauley River is twenty-six miles and 100 rapids of intense white water rafting excitement. You can raft the entire river, Upper Gauley and Lower Gauley, one day. That's what the Gauley River Marathon is all about. It's a trip for people that want it all, all at once. You'll start at the base of the Summersville Dam, the launch point for a full day-long ride filled with enough excitement and adrenaline for any adventure enthusiast.
Along the way you'll raft the whitewater of the classic "Big Five", the Upper Gauley's five class V's, as well as all of the other intense rapids on the Upper.
But instead of finishing your day there, you'll continue downriver into the huge waves and holes in the rapids of the Lower G. In between, be prepared for jump rock, swimmer's rapid, and an enormous, hot riverside lunch prepared by our chefs at Canyon Doors Camp.
